Wedgeport: We announce the death of Hector Jérôme Richard, native of Wedgeport, occurred on Friday, August 20th at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital at the age of 74. He was the son of the late Mathurin Richard and Dora Cottreau. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and veteran of the Second World War. He leaves to mourn three daughters, Patsy (Mrs. Bernard Boureau) of Saulnierville and Geraldine (Mrs. Phillip Nickerson) and Maureen (Mrs. Neil LeBlanc) of Wedgeport; two sons, Delbert of Whitby, Ontario and Gerald of Wedgeport; as well as three sisters, Genevieve (Mrs. Monte Kasch) of Stoughton, Massachusetts, and Marion Deveau and Betty Richard of Wedgeport; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Saulnier. The funeral was held on Monday, August 23rd at 10:30 a.m. with funeral service at Saint Michael's Church. Father Roland Soucie officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
