Sarah was a devoted wife and caring mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed the simplest things in life, but her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved with all her heart. Sarah was very talented in crocheting and knitting. She crocheted numerous hats that were given to new born babies at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. The highlight of Christmas-giving to her children and grandchildren was the receiving Sarah's famous knitted dish cloths. Before retiring, Sarah and Joe were owners and operators of the Little Farmers Seafood Market in Wallace. During that time Sarah made many friends that lasted a lifetime. She was a friend to all, a strong, yet gentle presence in the lives of those who were blessed to know her. Sarah was loved and will surely be missed, but treasured memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace, NC with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. The Reverend Dr. Dennis Bazemore will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Rockfish Memorial Cemetery.
