"Frank S. Houck, Gloversville druggist, received word yesterday afternoon of the death of his brother, Jacob Henry Houck, of Central Bridge, at the St. Peter's hospital in Albany. Mr. Houck died unexpectedly about 12:30 yesterday afternoon. He underwent a minor operation some time ago in preparation for a major operation and was progressing favorably when he suffered an attack of heart trouble and died a short time later. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nancy Deitz Houck, of Central Bridge; three brothers, Arthur J. of Sugar City, Col.; John W., of Central Bridge and Frank S., of Gloversville; three sisters, Mrs. Katherine H. Warner, Mrs. Eva Houck Deitz and Miss Caroline M. Houck, all of Central Bridge; three nephews, Norman P. Houck, of Denver, Col.; Leslie Enders Houck, of Chicago, Ill. and Richard H. Houck, of Gloversville, and one niece, Katherine L. Houck, of Gloversville. The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday and burial will be in the Sloansville Cemetery, Sloansville. Rev. G. O. Sands, of the Bethany Lutheran Church at Central Bridge, will officiate. Mr. Houck was born in 1861 at Central Bridge, educated in the schools there, and later attended Schoharie Academy at Schoharie. He was a carpenter by trade for many years, and in the last ten years has been in the employ of the state connected with the State Highway Department."
