Rita D. Gregory McKinney, 65, of 296 Meansville Road, Apt E-11, Union, SC passed October 4, 2017. A native of Union, SC, she was the widow of Robert McKinney and daughter of the late James Lee Darby and Christianna Gregory. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Myra Gregory. Rita was a member of Mark Hill Baptist Church where she served as an usher, choir member and kitchen committee member. She was self-employed as a nursing assistant for many years. Rita leaves fond and loving memories to one son, Thomas Arthur (Elizabeth) Gregory of Whitmire, SC; one daughter, Ann Marie Byars of Pacolet, SC; one granddaughter, Ashley Byars; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Nell Smith; one aunt, Cevera Council Lipsey of Jonesville, SC; a special friend, caregiver, and confidant in whom she relied on daily; and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends at the home of Ruby Pollard, 156 Wheatfield Road, Jonesville, SC 29353. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Mark Hill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Sterling Farr, Sr. will officiate
