Daughter of James Milford Fields and Annie Jewel "Carter" Fields. Wife to Jack Bernard Cooper, daughter; Laura Jean "Patterson" Cooper-Husband Alex M Patterson and son, John Patterson - Daughter, Amy Marie Cooper - Son, Paul Raymond Cooper, wife Sonya Joyce "Hamer" Cooper, their daughter Lydia MacKenzie Cooper.

Sisters: Anne Howell, Mattie Lena Eavenson, Winnifred Wingard - Brothers - Carter Bailey and James Milford Jr.

Erma Jeanne Fields Cooper – Concord, NC – Mrs. Cooper, 81 passed away peacefully, Monday, March 4th, 2013 with her family at her side following a sudden accident. Mrs. Cooper was born, September 3, 1931 in Elberton, GA to the late Annie Jewel Fields and James Milford Fields. She was the youngest of seven children; two brothers and four sisters.
The family will hold visitation at First Baptist Church- Concord, NC on Thursday, March 7th from 1-2 pm in the church parlor. The service will follow in the sanctuary at 2pm. Interment will be at Carolina Cemetery Park - Concord, NC following the service.
Mrs. Cooper was a graduate of Anderson Hospital- Anderson, SC as a Registered Nurse in 1951. She continued her career as an Assistant Floor Nurse at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She married Jack B Cooper in 1954 and they lived in Colorado Springs, CO while Jack was in the Air Force. After a tour of duty in Bitburg, Germany with the USAF, they made their home in Albemarle, NC. She worked in the Stanly County Hospital, as a County Health Department Nurse and taught Nursing Aides at the Hospital. After moving to Concord in 1971, she worked as a Pediatric Nurse for the practice of Drs. Niblock and Johnson. She retired from nursing around 1990. Mrs. Cooper was devoted and very active in her Church. She served as Women's Missionary Director for numerous years and was an ordained Deacon of First Baptist Church, Concord. She enjoyed entertaining and playing Bridge.
The signs of a good and godly woman are seen in what she leaves behind; A Sign that hangs in the kitchen that reads: Faith, Family, Friend's….for these I give thanks.
She is survived by her Husband of 58 years, two daughters; Laura C. Patterson and husband Lex, Amy M. Cooper both of Concord and a son, Paul R. Cooper and wife Sonya of Waxhaw, NC. She has two wonderful grandchildren whom she cherished deeply, John Patterson and Lydia Cooper.
