Jack Peters passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his home in Stamford, Texas at the age of 88. Jack’s life will be celebrated during a Memorial Service on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Strait officiating. Services will be held in the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, 807 S. Columbia Street.

Jack was born January 7, 1929 to Bert and Etta (Rush) Peters in Fort Worth, Texas. He was a graduate of Stamford High School. Jack began his working career in construction, prior to his 20 plus years of employment at the Rural Electric Association. Jack and Gay bought a farm west of Stamford and began a new chapter in their lives as farmers/ranchers, a job they particularly enjoyed because of their cows and donkey. He was a Lutheran.

Jack was married to Gay Stephens on July 12, 1952 in Stamford, Texas. This union was blessed with three children; Kellye, Steve and Farley.

Jack is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gay Peters of Stamford, Texas; daughter Kellye Teichelman and husband Billy of Stamford, Texas; two sons, Steve Peters and wife Kristy of Emory, Texas and Farley Peters and wife Naoko of Tucson, Arizona; four grandchildren, Toby Teichelman and wife Shayla of Lubbock, Texas, Rinnell Yoder and husband Zachary of Dalhart, Texas, Miranda Peters of Tucson, Arizona and Mari Peters of Flagstaff, Arizona, four great grandchildren, Emma and Hagen Teichelman and Elijah and Oliver Yoder and a host of other relatives and friends.
