A daughter of Tamar Nais Hodel, and her adoptive mother, Jimmie Lee Stokes Faison.

Author of "One Day She'll Darken: The Mysterious Beginnings of Fauna Hodel", published in January 2008.

She is survived by her two daughters, Yvette and Rasha.

Fauna was recently the subject of a six-part television series, inspired by true events, entitled "I Am the Night", created and written by Sam Sheridan, that aired from 28 January until 04 March 2019 on the TNT network. The role of Fuana Hodel was portrayed by India Eisley.
