Robert (Bob) Boston was born on April, 21 1932 to Marion and Mabel (Luehring) Boston.  Prior to graduation from Washington High School, in 1949, Bob took over his parent’s family farm. Bob met Marvel Leidig while roller-skating and married her on November, 20 1955. When asking Marvel’s father for her hand in marriage, upon the father’s repeated concern of pregnancy, Bob informed his future father-in-law she was not pregnant, but he thought he could do it if that’s what it took. To this union was born Debbie, Kim, and Tammie. Upon his marriage, Bob started his own farming operation which he continued building until his health would not permit.  When health issues arose, Bob continued being active by self-learning various hobbies.  Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, taxidermist of the family’s antler trophies, stained glass worker, sawmill operator, woodworker/furniture designer and builder, country western dancer.  He enjoyed lapidary, beekeeping, and restoring old furniture as well as the acquisition of new knowledge and skills.  He was active in: the Washington County Historical Society, a local geological dig, a rural water district board, Washington FFA Alumni Association and Washington County Fair as a judge for woodworking. Family was of the up most importance to Bob. Bob’s own love of learning resulted in him assuring his offspring’s access to continuing education opportunities. Bob started woodworking when his son started learning woodworking in his high school industrial arts class. Bob rejuvenated his own youth beekeeping experience to assist his grandson’s endeavors. In his own words: “Remember, I’ve lived a good life.”  Robert LeRoy Boston passed from this life Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury, Nebraska at the age of 85 years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother (James), daughter (Tammie). He is survived by his wife (Marvel), sister (Dorothy) of Marysville, daughter (Debbie) and husband (David Nutsch) of Washington, son (Kim) and wife Georgia Boston of Hanover, son-in-law Kirk Fournier of Manhattan, grandchildren: Dustin and wife Cara Nutsch of Towanda, Chad Nutsch of Winfield, Caleb Boston of Hanover, Jemiah (JW) Fournier of Emporia, Seth Fournier of Manhattan, Sade Fournier of Goff, Luke Boston of Hanover, and four great-grandchildren.
