Virginia Beach - Edna J. Keller, 96, formerly of First Colonia Inn in Virginia Beach, died peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2014. She was born in Sellersville, Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years J. Paul Keller and daughter Joyce French.

Left to cherish her memory are her son John Keller and wife Bonnie; son James Keller and wife Evelyn; daughter Judy McQuitty and husband Mac; daughter Jean O'Neal, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

She raised her family while simultaneously having a nursing career. Our mom and grandma loved nature especially the ocean, encouraged hard work and taught us all to appreciate the simple pleasures of life. With quiet, cheerful, unwavering leadership she was the glue that kept her family together and we will always look to her example as a guide on how to live our lives.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Beth Shalom and Hospice and Palliative Care of Tidewater for their care during her final days.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 4889 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach VA 23462.
