Kathryn was born on November 18, 1926 in White Springs, Florida.
She grew up in Wellborn, Florida, graduating as Valadictorian of her senior class. She begin her working career as a telephone operator with Southern Bell Telephone Company in Lake City, Florida. She later transferred to Gainesville, Florida where she worked until she retired in 1983.
Kathryn loved her family and friends, her faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses along with many, many spiritual brothers and sisters. She loved flowers, planting, and seeing their beauty and working with them. She also loved seafood, from mullet and swamp cabbage, oysters and shrimp, all the way to lobster. In her younger years, she loved to travel, see new sights, explore theme parks, beaches and the beautiful fall colors found in the mountains of North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway was one of her favorite roads to meander with her husband and friends. She was gracious and generous with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her father, Leroy Judson Morrell, her mother, Leah Annie Grimes Morrell, her sister, Helen Morrell Charles, her brothers, Leroy Jay Morrell and Warren Melvin Morrell.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Willis Butler of 52 years, her brother, Clayton Morrell of Waynesville, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A family visitation prior to the funeral service is planned at Dees-Parrish Funeral Home , 458 S Marion Ave, Lake City, Florida from Monday 5pm-7:00pm. The funeral will be held at the same funeral home onTuesday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at 3:00pm at the Cross City, Florida cemetery. Officiating is Asa Sharp and Larry Krahn, both ministers of the South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lake City, Florida.
