Fred Adophi was born in Dusseldorf, Germany. He came to America as a young boy and settled with his parents in Matherville, Illinois. They later moved to northern Wisconsin, where he met Anna Livingston, whom he married on January 25, 1913. Fred and Anna moved to Iowa and had four children together: Pearl and Earl (twins), Elizabeth and George. The couple divorced on 07/11/1930. Fred married Lillian Hansen in Davenport, Iowa later in 1930. Lillian died in October of 1964. Mr. Adophi was a carpenter and cabinet maker. For the last several years of his life, he operated Apple Acres, an orchard at his home.
