Artist. He was a prominent painter noted for his large fresco wall works which helped establish the popular mural movement in Mexican art. At the age of ten he studied art at the Academy of San Carlos in Mexico City and was sponsored to continue study in Europe, in the early 1900s. From 1913 to 1917, he enthusiastically embraced his new style school of art, embracing simple forms social life and history with large patches of vivid colors. His paintings began to attract much attention and he soon was able to display them at several exhibitions. Between the 1920s and 1950s, his many murals were featured on the walls of cities such as Paris, Mexico City, New York City, San Francisco, Havana, Chapingo, etc. Many of his painting are on permanent display in world wide gallaries and musesums to this date.
