Johnny Dee Cook, of Perry, fought a long, hard battle with (GBM) Glioblastoma Multiforme cancer with his wife, Barbara, by his side. John went home to be with his Lord at home on October 3, 2017. He was 69.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Gene Owens officiating.

John was born on May 11, 1948 to Cloyd and Milda (Rose) Cook in Ponca City. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1966. John served in the National Guard.

John and Barbara Chilcoat were married March 14, 1986 in Miami, OK. John retired from Ditch Witch after 30 years as a machinist.

John enjoyed photography and traveling. John was a simple man. You would always see him in his Harley Davidson shirts, OU shirts and jeans. John was a collector of everything, but mostly, marbles, knifes, and die cast cars. He enjoyed working in his yard.

John enjoyed riding his Harley and going on road trips with his friends. John loved going to OU games. John enjoyed playing pool in his man cave while listening to albums on his turn table.

John had "3 angels" come into his life recently. His daily caregiver, Kiersten Woods, his hospice nurse, Donna, and nurse aide, Lizzy.

Survivors include a son, Donald Cook of Ponca City; a daughter, Teri Cook and fiancé Randy Brandon of Wellston; step-daughter, Crystal and husband Kevin Gilbreath of Perry;

Grand children: Hunter and Ashlyn Conatser of Oklahoma City, Austin Johnston of Tampa, FL, Kaylen Johnson of Crescent, Noah Bray of Wellston, Brailey and Cannon Gilbreath of Perry; one great grandchild, Jordan Privett of Crescent; in-laws, Jimmie and Evelyn Spillman of Perry;

Two sisters: Margaret and husband Gary Yates of Ponca City, Joyce and husband Monroe Eisenbitez of Green Valley, AZ; sister-in-laws, Gloria Cook of Orlando, Marilyn and husband Robert Kaufmann of Newalla; brother-in-laws, Bob and wife Karen Spillman of Tucson, AZ and Mike Spillman of Seattle, WA;

Great friends: Dale Mason, Shannon Hamlett and Larry and his wife Donna Lamm.

Preceding in death were his parents, brothers Bob and Paul and wife Dorelen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Noble County Relay for Life, Perry Grandparents Club (Perry Wheatheart Nutrition Project) or Companion Hospice in care of at Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N 7th Street, Perry Ok 73077.

*Johnny was my youngest brother so we grew up together and had a lot of the same interests. When I got my 1966 Chevell SS he would ask to borrow it,and I would tell him yes, as long as you return it with a full tank of gas. He was a great brother and will be missed.
