75 Years Ago (1942)
» A Sebring couple on their way home from the Sebring-Canfield football game were killed a short distance from their home along North 12th Street. George Taylor, 42, and Bernetta Sanford Taylor, 34, were passengers in a car driven by Joseph Taylor when the automobile experienced electrical problems and the lighting system failed. After efforts to fix the car were unsuccessful, the couple began walking home when they were struck by a car driven by John Meir, 24, who did not see them along the dark road. The couple had five children, ranging in age from 17 to seven months old, and were both employees of the Spaulding China Company.
