John Neal Gammon, age 70, of Lamar, MO, and more recently the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 in Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. John was born on July 1, 1947 in Springfield, MO, the son of Francis Neal "Buck" and Helen Margaret (Brown) Gammon.
He graduated from Glendale High School in 1965, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the now Missouri State University, Springfield.
John served his country proudly for four years in the U.S. Navy, as an Air/Sea Crew Chief. Later he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce and was on the Board of Directors of the Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) Hospital, in Logan, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Buck Gammon.
John is survived by three sons and their spouses, Todd Neal and Michelle Gammon, Bradley John and Cindy Gammon, and Wade Matthew Gammon; six grandchildren, Kyle, Kendall, Kaden, Kelson, Bailey John and Thomas; his mother, Helen Gammon; four siblings, Cathy Gammon, Juanita Bergman, Thomas Gammon, and Mark Gammon.
Burial, with military honors, in Brookline Cemetery, Brookline, MO.
