Arthur Wayne Pearson, 78, of Muskogee, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, October 2, 2017. He was born on January 24, 1939 to George Pearson and Elizabeth (Capehart) Pearson in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. Wayne was a 1957 graduate of Webbers Falls High School. Wayne was a great athlete and excelled in baseball and basketball. After attending Connors State College, Wayne signed with the St. Louis Cardinals where he played baseball for several years. After his stint in baseball, he returned home and farmed with his brothers until his retirement. Wayne married the love of his life, Carol, on June 13, 1958. From this marriage, they were blessed with two children. He loved having his children and grandchildren visit him. He was an avid OU fan and a huge fan of the Yankees. He was a lifelong Webbers Falls Warrior fan more than anything! Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Modean Pearson Cannon and Lola Faye Pearson; brothers, Billy Ray Pearson and George Donald Pearson. Wayne was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Funeral services celebrating Wayne's life will be 2PM, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jack Weaver officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
