Dr. Jim Reed Gerron, 84, of Midland, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017. Private family services will be scheduled at a later date at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Arlington, TX.

Jim was born October 3, 1932 in Robert Lee, Texas to O.E. Gerron and Margaret Lucille Carney Gerron.

In 1947 Jim graduated from Odessa High School and started school at the University of Texas at Austin and later entered the University of Texas Dental program in Houston. After furthering his education he graduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston with his Master of Science in Dentistry in 1964.

Jim served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force while being stationed in Germany, Morocco and Alabama.

He met his wife in Montgomery, Alabama and they married on August 4, 1962 in Baytown, Texas.

Jim was engaged in the private practice of Orthodontics in Odessa for 25 plus years and a proud member of the Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and was a Diplomat of the American Association of Orthodontics.

Jim and his wife were the co-founders and owners of Nurses Unlimited, Inc. and Midland/Odessa Nurses Unlimited, Inc. Jim retired from the practice of Orthodontics in 1993 moved to Midland where he was fully able to enjoy his love of travel and photography.

The love of his life was his kids and he made sure he attended every event and activity they were involved in and continued the same with his grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Gerron’s special caregivers at Hospice of Midland and Nurses Unlimited.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Midland or Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals, or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
