Charles R. Hinton Jr., 91, of Roseto, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, in Slate Belt Health & Rehabilitation Center, Bangor. Born on Sept. 21, 1926, in North Bangor, PA, he was the son of the late Charles R. and Della (Milker) Hinton Sr. He and his beloved wife, former Teresa Martocci, were married 18 years on May 8.

He honorably served in the US Army during World War II. He had worked in the garment industry in the Slate Belt area for many years as cutter and mechanic. He was an avid gardner and passed his gardening skills to his step grandson Evan. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto.

In addition to his wife, Teresa, he is survived by a step-daughter, Margaret Butz and her husband, Jeff, of Danielsville, PA, and a step-son, Frank Reese and his fiancee, Amy Maxwell, of Tampa, FL, and step-grandchildren, Evan and Hanna Butz of Danielsville and a brother, Kenneth. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nettie ( Penuzzi) Hinton and Anna (Casciano) Hinton and brothers, George and Milton.

Funeral services will be on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, www.fiorefuneralhome.com, 230 Market Street, Bangor. Relatives and friends may on Friday from 9:30 until time of services. Entombment with Military Honors will be in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in the New Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Roseto.
