Mattie Ruth Hart, 77, of Rockford, Illinois, departed this life September 20, 2017, in her home, after a long illness. She was born September 2, 1940, in Vance, Mississippi, the daughter of Willie and Mattie Hart.

Mattie lived many years in Rockford coming back in 1971 from Detroit, Michigan. She attended schools in Vance.

Mattie leaves to cherish many memories: daughters, Bonnie Hart, Mattie Butler, Diane (Albert Beasley), Linda and Lisa Hart; sons, Danny (Tammy), Willie, Michael and Deon Hart; 33 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty, Odessa and Linda Hart; brother, Willie and Henry Hart; relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by: parents; stepfather, Emmett Gardener; grandsons, Jamie Hart and Derrick Butler; two brothers; and one sister.

Services on Friday, October 6, 2017, at Greater Faith Empowerment Center in Rockford. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
