Cheryl M. Burns, 67 of Port Orange, FL, formerly of Massena, passed away on September 1, 2017.
A graveside service will be held at the Morley Cemetery on October 14th at 10 am with Rev. Michael Terrell of the United Methodist Church in Canton officiating.
Cheryl was born on April 20, 1950 to the late John M. Armstrong and Gwendolyn J. Armstrong. A 1968 graduate of Canton Central High School was employed in her early career for Tisdell Associates in Canton. In 1984, she began working as a scrap trader for Minerals Processing, Inc. of Massena. She continued in that role for a number of companies including, Connecticut Metal Industries, Ansonia, CT, Admetco, Fort Wayne, IN and Metalmark, Inc., Cleveland, OH, until she moved to Florida where she sold real estate until her retirement.
Cheryl is survived by one son, Scott A. Wilson (Doreen), Louisville, NY; four grandchildren Paige T. Monroe (Zachary), Levi S. Wilson, Hannah O. Wilson, and Chloe G. Wilson, all of Louisville; three sisters Linda Toffolon, Daytona Beach, FL, Marlene Armstrong, Port Orange, FL and Sonya Butler, Canton, NY; one brother John Armstrong, Ogdensburg; two great-grandchildren Bexley R. Monroe and Wilson G. Monroe both of Louisville, along with several nephews and a niece.
Cheryl married the late Harry F. Wilson August 24, 1968 at St. Mary’s Church, Canton, NY. The marriage ended in divorce.
Donations may be made to St. Lawrence Valley Hospice in lieu of Flowers.
