WENDELL - Charlie Theron Martin, Jr., 82, passed away Sunday, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wake County to the late Charlie & Juanita Pearce Martin, Sr.
He was a lifelong member of Mid-Way Baptist Church, where he especially enjoyed his Sunday School class. Charlie served his country in the US Navy, and worked many years at Thompson Cadillac. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren; Kendall & Kelsey Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Painter Martin of the home, children; Scott Martin of Wendell, Jeff Martin of Fuquay Varina, Shelley Murdock of Cary, Wendy Martin of Raleigh, Jill (William) Smith of Wendell, brothers; Larry (Janet) Martin, Tony (Judy) Martin, 2 grandchildren; Kelton & Trey Smith, 2 great grandchildren; Kameron Smith, Melana Lillis, & very dear friend; Bill King.
Funeral service 2pm, Thursday, Strickland Funeral Home Chapel, 211 W. Third St., Wendell with visitation 12:30-2 pm, prior to the service.
Burial, Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church.
