Elizabeth S. Stuart, 83, died October 1, 2017 at her Neenah home in the presence of her loving husband of 57 years, James C. Stuart.

Betty was born January 19th, 1934 in Waukon, Iowa to Earl and Lucille McCormick.

Betty dedicated her heart to her immediate and extended family and was best known for her many years of involvement in 4-H as both a club leader and a Supervisor at the Winnebago County Fair. She and Jim rarely missed a fish fry together at the Appleton American Legion where they began a Friday night tradition 42 years ago that is now being enjoyed by a third generation of grandchildren. Betty loved to nurture others, and could always be counted on at gatherings for her numerous delicious cooking or baking contributions, such as her Pumpkin Squares, which will heretofore be retired as a top secret family recipe.

Betty is survived by her husband James, two daughters Susan (Joseph) Hill of Verona WI, and Jennifer (significant other Brad) Corcoran of New London, WI, and son James Wayne Stuart of Tuscan, AZ. A total of eight grandchildren can boast that they were Betty's pride and joy, and she frequently told them "I love you to pieces". Emily Strandwitz, Philip (Tara) Strandwitz, and Mitchel (significant other Jess) Strandwitz, Fynn, Riley and Cullen Corcoran, Cameron and Brandon Stuart all have been a profound source of joy for their grandmother, and memories of them were always her most cherished gifts. Among many other beloved family and friends, Betty is further survived by her sister Judy (Clyde) Bailey in Cedar Rapids, IA, and her very dear friend Clara Bauman of Appleton. Betty was preceded in death by her brother Larry (Alice) McCormick of Marion, IA.

Visitation will take place at Westgor Funeral home in Neenah on Thursday, October 5th from 6-8:00 pm. A Catholic mass will take place to celebrate Betty's life on Friday, October 6th at 11:30 am at St. Gabriel's Church in Neenah, with a brief visitation before mass at 10:30. Directly following a luncheon in St. Gabriel's Fellowship Hall, the family invites close friends and family to join us at the burial service taking place at St. Margaret's Cemetery.
