Freak mishap claims a lifeCampbell County man jumps from an SUV A La Follette man died Saturday evening apparently from injuries sustained in a freak mishap. Authorities believe Johnny Chapman's leap from a moving vehicle was an emotionally driven act eventually leading to his death. Reports coming in to WLAF are that around 4 pm Saturday, the vehicle was traveling down Old Highway 63 in Caryville between City Hall and the Bruce Gap turn-off when the incident occurred. The 34-year old Chapman was taken to the La Follette Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Autopsy results are pending as the investigation continues.
