She was born on Aug. 26, 1929, in Connersville, to William D. and Angie Rebecca (Holliday) Goss. She was a devoted loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was raised in Connersville (Bunker Hill area), Cicero/Arcadia and Brookville. She spent most of her adult life in the Alexandria/Orestes area.
She married Hershel G. Brandenburg on May 26, 1952, and he preceded her in death in March 2002.
Wilma was a devoted mother to four children and grandma to nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was always very active in the ladies groups in the Orestes Christian Church where she was an active member. Wilma held many jobs during her lifetime from working as a secretary at Ballsingers Auto Dealership in Connersville to working at Red Gold before retiring in 1995.
Wilma is survived by children, Kathy (Otto Schatz) Harmon, Karen (Pat) Beeman, David (Tracy Huggins)Brandenburg, Carol Bailey, and forever son-in-law, Jeff Richardson; grandchildren, Angie Richardson, Joe Richardson, Suzy (Norman) Hoffman, Brian (Sara) Bailey, Steven Jones, Elizabeth Bailey, Amanda (Matt Gibson) Huggins, A.J. Beeman, and Amber(Sean) Gordon; great- grandchildren, Dalton (Cheyene) Adams, Lilly Hoffman, Autumn Martin, Justice Jones, Mason Gibson, Sophie Hoffman, Alexander Jones, Lacey Bailey, Paige Bailey, Bracyn Beeman, Brennan Beeman; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rosalie Paulgen (Seattle, Wash.), and several nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her father, William D. Goss; mother, Angie R. Goss; husband of 50 years, Hershel Brandenburg; brother, Howard D. Goss; and granddaughter, Sarah Dawn Jones in 1989.
Funeral service celebrating Wilma's life will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson St., Elwood, with the Rev. Courtley Granger and Brian Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
