Her family traveled much of her life, but lived mostly in the south part of the United States and eventually settled down in Oklahoma.
Darlene traveled to other countries such as Puerto Rico, where she became fluent in Spanish, Mexico, and to Ireland, but she called Oklahoma City her home.
She once married what she called the love of her life, Gregory Stilwell, and had a child named Damian Jose Stilwell. Unforseen circumstances left her a young widow when Gregory was killed while serving in the military.
She once again found love and married Humberto Virgen and adopted his two children, Charles and Imelda, but eventually this ended in divorce.
The last part of her life was lived in Southeast Oklahoma where she stayed with different siblings inbetween hospital visits.
Her greatest passion was geneology. She always said the past is what molds us.
Darlene is proceded in death by her Dad, Clarence Hayes, her mom, Deloris Hayes who passed the day after her, her child which had passed away at approximately 28 days from SIDS, two great-nephews, Gaje Florence and Jacob Wilson, a nephew, Windel Owens, and a spouse, Gregory Stilwell.
She is greatly missed and will forever be remembered as the aunt who loved her coffee with 3 creamers, 2 sugars, and 1 coffee.
