Betty Sue Martindale Walden, of Jasper, Texas, passed away after a brief illness with cancer on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.

Born in Jasper, Texas into a military family, Betty grew up in German, Georgia, Okinawa, and South Carolina, developing a love of travel that would continue throughout her life. She graduated from Dallas Baptist College after starting a family and earned her CPA certification shortly afterwards. Betty also enjoyed traveling to see family and internationally to famous or tropical locations.

The family will receive friends from Noon to 2:00pm at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home, Jasper, Texas on Saturday, October 7, 2017, with funeral service at 2:00pm and burial following at Little Hope Cemetery.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Cleon Alton Walden, Sr., and is survived by her brother, Richard Martindale (Roesalyn); son, Cleon Walden, Jr. (Billie); grandchildren, Trevor and Delaney Walden; and nieces, Rachael O’Bar and Rhonda Rhodes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Hope Cemetery, 900 County Road 142, Jasper, Texas 75951.
