Martha Willene Tanner, age 77, of Nicholls, GA passed away Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, Douglas, Georgia. Mrs. Tanner was born September 28, 1940, in Washington, D.C. to the late Rexford Milton Kirkland and Lois Lee Williams Kirkland.
Survivors include: Her husband: Wayne Tanner of Douglas, Ga., Daughters: Vicky and her husband Jay Ryles of Nicholls, Ga., Marty and her husband Kevin Hopkins of Lincolnton, Ga., Son: Kenneth Vickers, Jr. of Nicholls, Ga., Sister: Sheila and her husband Verlon Hutchison of Douglas, Ga., Grandchildren: Shandi Dykes, Cole Hopkins, Autumn Ryles, Evan Ryles. Great-Grandchildren: Jonathan Dykes, Shandlee Meeks and several nieces nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her Father: Rexford Kirkland. Mother: Lois Kirkland and Brother: Rocher Kirkland and Sister-in-Law: Vivian Kirkland.
The funeral service were held Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the St Mark United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Calhoun officiating.
Interment will follow at Hall Cemetery (Dry Creek Baptist Church
