Roy K. Brandt, 87 of 2903 F. Ave NW died, Monday, October 2, 2017, following a long illness.

Services will be on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 A.M. on Thursday. Rev. Brad Brown will officiate. A burial service will immediately follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Roy was born January 18, 1930 in Fort Atkinson, the son of Roy G. and Maple Brandt.

He graduated from Fort Atkinson High School, the Electronic Radio Television Institute of Omaha, and the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute of Washington D.C.

Throughout the years he would have been found in the tool room at Scheild Bantam Co. of Waverly, at KOEL radio in Oelwein, 25 years in engineering at WMT Stations, 12 years at Rockwell Goss as an Electrician, retiring in 1991.

He had a strong work ethic; had there been two of him, they both would have been busy full time.

He was also a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a friend of Bill W.

Roy and Dawn were married for 49 years having met in Waverly on a blind date.

Julie (Neuzil) Bales and Roy knew each other from childhood. Having lost their spouses, they got together in 1999 and have been married for 18 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Paul, wife Dawn (Loomer).

A special thank-you to Chari and the staff at the Hospice House in Hiawatha for your care and compassion during this difficult time.

A memorial fund has been established in Roy's honor.
