Elsie Elizabeth Olsen, 87, of Huntsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 7th. Elsie was born in Kermanshah, Iran. She received both her Batchelor's and Master's degrees from New York University (NYU). At NYU, she met and later married the love of her life, Eugene A. Olsen. They remained married for 38 years until his passing in 2003. They settled in Huntsville in 1973 where they raised their children, Evin and Eric. She enjoyed a successful real estate career, briefly taught undergraduate and graduate classes at Alabama A&M University, and was a longtime member of The Episcopal Church of the Nativity. Elsie had many passions; she enjoyed collecting antiques, travel, games, genealogy, sports, politics, her friends and family. By far though, beyond her love for her husband and her children, was her love for her only grandson, Atanous. She delighted in seeing his face or hearing his voice and he held her heart like no other. Elsie was a beautiful, loving, strong and intelligent woman, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene A. Olsen; her daughter, Evin Sanna Yadegar; and her parents, David and Asley Yonan.
