Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary - Paola Chapel. Family will meet with friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Osawatomie Cemetery.
Virginia was born February 15, 1928, in Jameson, Missouri, the daughter of Clifford and Nellie (Blythe) Calhoun. She earned her G.E.D. in the mid 1970’s to prove to her children that it was never too late. She was united in marriage to Richard Earl Stephens on May 1, 1943 in Gallatin, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard (Earl) Stephens, her eldest son Clifford Stephens, and son-in-law “Cliffy” Holliday. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Holliday, sons Rick Stephens Jr. (Debi), and Randy Stephens (Peggy). She had 10 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
