From The Salt Lake Tribune (UT) | 14 June 1998:

Born to James Robert and Maida Hansen Douglas on a sunny December 29, 1946, was their second child and second son, Glen Kenneth Douglas. Glen terrorized Salt Lake with his fearless companions in rambunctious and youthful antics, more than half of the stories remain untold. Along with being a heartthrob, the athletic 6'2'' young Glen dominated Granite High School sports. Taking the ball to the hole in Basketball, making winning touchdowns in football and driving homeruns in baseball.

After graduating in '65, Glen served a full time LDS mission to Finland, bringing home the love of sauna baths and wooden clogs. He attended Weber State where he met Nancy Stewart, "Miss Roy '67", in French class, where he dazzled her and the rest of the class with excuses why his homework wasn't finished, which usually was "My mom isn't done with it yet."

After marrying Nancy, Glen graduated University of Utah in 1972. They packed their belongings and moved to Sunny Southern California. In California, Glen excelled in his own business of making and selling saunas and exercise equipment. Not only did his business increase, so did his family. During their 20 years stay in California, Glen was the proud father of five adorable children, two boys and three girls. Glen followed all of his children's careers in sports and academics throughout their High School years, but not putting his own on the side. Glen became a basketball referee and refereed many games in the High School circuit.

In 1994, Glen moved his family to Utah and settled in Orem. While in Orem he continued to referee High School games and unwound in his garden and landscaping, which always unfolded into a wonderful summer harvest of vegetables. He made wonderful salsa. When he wasn't gardening, Glen was in his carpentry shop or working for Knight Avante, which is what he spent most of his time doing. Glen rejoiced with his sons as they met and married their brides for time and eternity. At age 51, he heard his name being called to come home. He went peacefully the morning of Friday, June 12, 1998.

Glen was survived by his loving and adoring family: His wife, Nancy; and children, James Brandon (wife Jennifer), Drew Kenneth (wife Amy), Amanda Jean, Kimberlee Jo and Andrea Lynn; his father, James R. Douglas; and siblings, Robert Douglas and Marsha Bown. Until we meet again.

Services will be Monday, June 15, 1998, 11 a.m., in the Timpview 1st Ward Chapel, 900 West 1000 North, Orem. Friends may call at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Sunday, 6-8 p.m., or at the church Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park in Salt Lake City.
