Ella Louise Collins “Weasel”, was the daughter of the late Frank and Lila Collins. She was born on August 16, 1937 and departed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.

Ella received her education in the Public Schools of Aberdeen, Maryland and Somerset County, Maryland.

She was employed by Perdue Farms, Inc. in Salisbury for many years. In her later years she became employed as a Foster Grandparent for Shore-Up, Inc., where she worked until her recent illness. Ella was also a foster parent and mother to many.

“Weasel,” as she was affectionately known by family and friends enjoyed crossword puzzles and cooking. She was well known for her famous sweet potato pies.

Ella loved the Lord and was a kind and giving person to all she came in contact with.

Ella was a former member of Mt. Hope A.M.E. Zion Church in Princess Anne, Maryland. She later became a member of Christian Stronghold Community Church where the pastor is Rev. Willie Jackson, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Elijah Collins of Virginia Beach, VA, Victor, Carlis, Shirelle Collins and Gloria Jackson (Ralph), all of Princess Anne; two sisters, Mary Robinson and Ethel Jones, both of Princess Anne; nine grandchildren, Thomas and Shateshia Collins, both of Virginia Beach, Karmen, Kareena and Kare’ Collins of Sicklerville, NJ, Patience Ibik of Baltimore, MD, Taren Nance of Cambridge, MD, Wendell and DeShawn Burke of Princess Anne; special nieces, Delores Collins and Mary Fortune; one goddaughter, Elaine Taylor; one, daughter-in-law, Karen Collins of Sicklerville; cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James and Orlando Collins, seven brothers, one sister, Helen Collier and a daughter-in-law, Sheila Collins.

A Funeral Service will be held 12 noon Saturday, June, 3, 2017 at Mount Hope A.M.E. Zion Church in Princess Anne with a viewing one hour prior. A viewing will also be held 6-8 P.M. Friday at the Church.

Interment will be in John Wesley ( Bowland Hill ) Cemetery in Princess Anne.
