Services for Margie Mae Evans, 86, of Flint, Texas, will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2017 at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Evans officiating. There will be a private burial in Elkhart, Texas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evans passed away Saturday September 30, 2017 at her home in Flint. She was born June 11, 1931 in Lampasas, Texas to Joe and Iva Jewel Sutton Sheppard.

Margie was a member of Living Church of God. She graduated in 1949 from Winters High School in Winters, Texas. She worked as a switchboard operator with Ambassador College until retirement.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond Evans; her brothers, Wayne Sheppard and Lee Sheppard and her sisters, Judy Colbath and Earnestine Allbright.

She is survived by her loving family including her sister, Wanda Vinson; sons, Tony Evans and wife Laura, Doug Evans and wife Jeanne and her daughter, Kathy Chambless and husband Gary. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
