Ronnie D. McBride, age 83 of Weston, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 follow an extended period of declining health. Ronnie was born and raised in the Weston community and continued to live there. He was a graduate of Weston High School and played on the basketball team in the mid-50's. He was a retired bus driver with the Jackson Parish School Board and carried students to Weston High School as well as being the official bus driver for the sports teams. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a wonderful uncle to his nieces and nephews. He had a quick wit and loved to laugh and enjoy life. As a "charter member" of the "Wolf Stop Coffee Crew" he enjoyed his time spent with friends as well as his family.
Friends may visit with the family 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday at Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 10:00 AM Monday with Reverend Billy McBride and Reverend Paul Casey officiating. Interment will be at Zions Rest Cemetery near Jonesboro.
Survivors include sons, Kevin D. Mcbride, Craig McBride; daughter, Shanna McBride Disotell; grandchildren, Mason Andrews, Madison Disotell, McKenna Disotell; sisters, Kay Hogan, Genelle Trahan; sister-in-law, Ovie McBride; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; very special friends, J.R. & Ellon Neatherland. Mr. McBride was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Jimmeree McBride; parents, Earl D. & Vera (Culpepper) McBride; brothers, Douglas McBride, Kenneth McBride and Harold Wayne McBride.u
