Union: Kenneth F. KERSHNER, 66, of 17181 U.S.12, Union, and formerly of White Pigeon, died Feb. 20, 1998, in Elkhart, Ind., after a one year illness.

He was born July 22, 1931, in Bluffton, Ind., a son of George R. and Hazel B. (BUSICK) KERSHNER. A 1950 graduate of White Pigeon High School, he later moved to the Union area where he resided for more than 25 years.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Navy on the USS Destroyer Purdy.

He was employed for almost 36 years (1958-1994) at Miles Inc. of Elkhart, where he made citric acid.

He was a member of the American Legion Post # 143 of Bristol, the Cass County Conservation Club, Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 19, Men's Professional Billiards Association, Loyal Order of Moose # 599 of Elkhart and #94 of Pottawatomie, Ind. He also was active in softball in Elkhart and Middlebury, Ind.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. David (Laurie J.) GROVES of White Pigeon; one son, Michael K. KERSHNER of White Pigeon; three grandchildren, Joshua KERSHNER and Jeremy and Blake GROVES; three step-grandchildren, Ryan and Amy ISMAY and Brandon ZIPSER; and one brother, Rex KERSHNER of White Pigeon. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Relatives and friends may call from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Helen Collins of White Pigeon First Presbyterian Church will officiate, and burial will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the White Pigeon Athletic Complex. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
