with her loved ones beside her. She was born February 18, 1930, in Bergman, Arkansas, the third child of Joseph Peter and Lora Ella (Miller) Dees. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ray Young; her parents; her sisters, Inez Chappelle, Jolita Harp; her brother, I.W. Dees and her sister, Lorene Richardson.
Cynthia was a member of Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at Levi Strauss, St. John's Day Care, North Arkansas Regional Medical Center and Hart Monument. She was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, cook, gardener, singer and caretaker of others. She loved to cook big meals for her family and friends. Cynthia always tried to help other people and was very loyal to her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. She was one of the most unselfish people in this world; always giving and never taking for herself. She loved singing with her husband in a quartet at her church.
Cynthia is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Sue and William Henry Burr of Ozark, Missouri and Jo An Kay Rider of Harrison; and one sister, Mary Belle Thompson Sagely of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tami Kay Burcham of Conway, Arkansas, Shannon Burr of St. Peters, Missouri, Teresa Bult of Nashville, Tennessee and Scott Burr of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; eleven great-grandchildren, Garrett, Neal and Carter Burcham, Ryder, Lawson, and Dibora Bult, Madison and Lauren Burr and Jack, Andrew and Katie Burr; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service is 2:00 PM, Monday, October 2, 2017, at Liberty Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Harmon, with Brother Kerry Liggett officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the church prior to the service. Interment will be in Davidson Cemetery.
