Germaine "Geri" H. De Re Samec (nee Ahnell), of Palos Park, formerly of Frankfort and Chicago's Beverly area; graduate of Morgan Park High School and Fox Business College; past member of Ashburn Lutheran Church. Geri was 89 and had suffered from dementia; she faced her disease and previous battles with cancer and heart disease with grace and courage. Geri was beloved wife of the late Aldo De Re and the late Charles Samec. She was the loving mother of Denise (Larry) Falbo, Nancy De Re and Janet De Re; dearest grandmother of Katie and Jeremy Falbo; dear sister of Ronald (Beverly) Ahnell, the late Vernette (the late Arno) Gratz and the late Edward (Betty) Ahnell Jr.; dear step-mother of Kathy Jacobson and Liz (Vince) Faust; dear step grandmother of four. Geri was a fond aunt, caring friend and kind helper to many. Visitation Friday, October 6, 2017 2:00-9:00 P.M., at Lawn Funeral Home, 17909 S. 94th Ave., Tinley Park. Lying in State Saturday 9:00 A.M. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 13350 S. LaGrange Rd., Orland Park until time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery.
