Jean was born in Cleveland, Idaho to Reuben Earl and Emily Lucille Covert on May S, 1929. She was the third of four children. Jean grew up on the ranch with rock-chucks, chicken-hawks, her dog and comic books. She always loved to be outside roaming the hills and tending the sheep. She adored her older brother, Freeman, and was her little brother, Bud's, defender. She went to school in Cleveland and Grace.
As a teen in high school, she saw friends and loved ones leave to fight in World War II. Like everyone at that time, she lived with sacrifice.
After graduation, she went to work as a waitress in Montpelier, Idaho where she met and married Leon Booth.
Together they had three children: Toni Lynn, Jeri Lee and Brad Elwin. The family moved to Star Valley, Wyoming where Jean became a nurse. She found this very rewarding work and became a skilled surgical nurse. She lost her son when he was 5 in a tragic accident.
Jean and Leon divorced. She then met John Jefferson Mangum ]r and they married. She became a mother to his daughter, Pat. Jean always had a sense of adventure and with Jeff they travelled and lived in different places throughout the west. They were interested in aviation, race horses and gold mining. Jean was always close with her family and spent many good times with them. She is survived by her daughters Toni and Jeri, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is very loved and will be missed by all.
