Rosie Lewis, longtime resident of Idaho Falls, passed away at Eastern Idaho Medical Center on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017. She was 82. She was born in Goshen, Idaho, to Vero and Hazel Johnson. She attended a local school until she lost her eye sight at the age of 8. After which, she attended school at the Gooding School for the Blind and Deaf.

After school she met and married Bill Lewis of Salmon, Idaho. Together, they raised four children. They were married for 39 years until Bill's passing.

Through the commission for the blind, she obtained her training and business license for her cafeteria. She operated her own business, Rosie's Grapevine, for 30 years as blind vendor in both EG&G and EROB buildings. She was loved and respected by all who met her.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Steve and Billy Lewis; and her son-in-law, Jerry Fountain.

She is survived by her daughters, Hazel Paulsen and Tammy Fountain; her three sisters, Shawn (Larry) Tolpi, Sherry Johnson, Louise (Bill) Howard; and brother, Steve (Juanita) Johnson. Rosie had five grandchildren, Michelle (Ron) Turner, Tamera (Ren) Bishop, Jamie Lewis, Scott Lewis, Bryce White and Mandy (Scott) Mackey, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends and family may attend a visitation Tuesday, Oct. 3, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Miller Hann Funeral Home in Idaho Falls and one hour prior to services Wednesday. Funeral services will also be at Buck Miller Hann Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
