Mrs. Barbara V. Short Witt, age 67, of Deputy, Indiana, entered this life on October 22, 1946 in Closplint, Kentucky. She was the loving daughter of the late, Roy and Loeta Mae Huff Short. She moved to Deputy at the age of six and had lived there the rest of her life. She was a 1964 graduate of Deputy High School. Barbara was united in marriage on December 27, 1963 to Archie E. Witt in Madison, Indiana. This happy union of fifty years was blessed with a son, Michael and a daughter, Lisa. Barbara retired after 30 years of service with Reliance Electric Company as an assembler. She was a faithful member of the Solid Rock Community Church near Deputy. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, shopping, and spending time with her great granddaughter. Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mom and adoring granny. Barbara died on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at 1:45 a.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Short died May 3, 1989, her mother, Loeta Mae Huff Short died Aug. 18, 1986, her son, Michael Keith Witt, died March 30, 1972, her sister, Betty Elaine Carter, died October 24, 2007, her brothers, David Wayne, died October 16, 2011, Billy , died Sept. 26, 1949, Tommy, died Feb. 6, 1956, Rick, died Nov. 11, 1994, Jack, died Sept. 16, 2002, her sister in law, Janet Short, died May 9, 2011, her grandparents, Briscoe & Leatha Huff; George & Della Short.
