Karen was born June 17, 1965 in WaKeeney, KS to Edward J. and Cordula (Ritter) Werth. She attended schools in Quinter, graduating from QHS with the class of 1983, as the class salutatorian. She then went on to Ft. Hays State University, graduating there with a degree in economics and finance.
On June 17, 1989 she was united in marriage to Bradley D. Harvey. Together, they farmed on the family farm south of Collyer. She also worked as a secretary in Quinter at SCI Sales for many years.
Karen loved to cross-stitch and put puzzles together. One of her favorite past-times was watching her girls and grandsons participate in their different activities, from sporting events to FFA events to church events, she rarely missed one! Karen attended Zion Lutheran Church in Trego Center, lifetime member of the Quinter FFA Alumni, where she held numerous officer positions, National FFA Alumni Organization, and the Quinter Alumni, where she also held officer positions.
Left to mourn her passing include her husband, Brad, of the home, four daughters, Kassie Remington and husband Tyler of Quinter, KS, Kelsey Howard and husband Johnny of WaKeeney, KS, Hayley Harvey of Manhattan, KS, and Marissa Harvey of the home.
Karen is also survived by her four precious grandsons, Aiden and Taber Howard and Treityn & Trynden Remington, her parents, Edward and Cordula Werth of Park, KS, her mother-in-law, Lois Jean Harvey of Collyer, KS, her sisters, Elaine Schneider and husband LaVern of Albert, KS, Kathleen Reinert and husband Bob of Salina, KS, Evelyn Whitaker of Moberly, MO, Janette Walters and husband Tom of Emporia, KS, Janice Koland and husband Lance of Newton, KS, Karla Hecker and husband Chris of Hays, KS, her brothers, James Werth and wife Jeanne of Pueblo West, CO, David Werth and wife Lori of Lee's Summit, MO, her brother-in-laws, Micheal Harvey and wife Elizabeth of Salina, KS, Steven Harvey and wife Deb of WaKeeney, KS, a sister-in-law, Dona Harvey of Hays, KS and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Donald Harvey.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Quinter High School Gymnasium. Karen's family encourages everyone attending the service to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
