He was born to Pat and Dot Patterson on Aug. 26, 1947.
Mr. Patterson was a military veteran and worked for the Alabama Career Center System. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
He used to love to play baseball and softball. He worked at the feed mill in Guntersville a long time ago.
He is survived by his wife, Charis Bonds; daughters Kristy Robinson (Eric) and Paula Stinson-Keith; sister Polly McClendon; mother-in-law Earlene Sanders; sister-in-law Shelia Self (Joe); brother-in-law Jackie Sanders (Marilyn); and grandchildren Will Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Arnold Sanders; and brothers-in-law Dwight Sanders and Blackie McClendon.
The funeral service will be held today (Wednesday) at Adams Funeral Home with burial in Marshall Memory Gardens. Bro. Ben Edmondson and Bro. Jeff Martin will officiate.
The pallbearers will be Darrell Shadlinger, Ronnie Shadlinger, Keith Shadlinger, Bill Aaron, Randall Wallace, Don Shankles, Gary Jolley, Kenneth Swords and Joe Chandler.
