He was born December 21, 1925, in Cresco, the son of Ward and Cora Sabastian Craft.
He married Aurilla McCarville on December 12, 1949, in Nashua and she died November 8, 2011.
Ray served in the United States Army during World War II
and was employed with Rath Packing Company for thirty-three years. He was also later employed with Friendship Village until his retirement.
Survivors include: his son, Alan of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Madison Craft, Tara Craft and Susan Craft; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Pick of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by: his son, Mark Craft; his daughter, Patricia Craft; four brothers, Harold, Urban, Kenneth, and Harley Craft; three sisters, Goldie Leferink, Dorothy Vandeweerd, and Marie Baethke.
Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post 19 and Evansdale Amvets Post 31, assisted by the Iowa Army Honor Guard.
Public visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation will also be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.
