Julie Rae Porter Steck passed peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, after a hard battle with breast cancer. She was born March 18, 1958 to Madeline Harryman and Blaine Floyd Porter and raised in Midvale, Utah.
The light of Julie's life was her children. She was a single mom that worked very hard to make sure her children did not go without. The greatest gift beyond her children was her grandsons. She cherished her special weekends with Tradyn, who always wanted to be with his "grandma Judy". The special weekends had an added bonus when her grandson Drake could join.
Julie loved REIKI, making jewelry and working on her home. She loved everything about REIKI. To her it was a beautiful gift to give to bring comfort to others. Julie appreciated and was "giddy" by the smallest things in life. One of her favorites were her many wind chimes.
Julie made friends where ever she went. She had the ability to take people under her wing and guide them through obstacles that came their way.
Julie is survived by her daughter, Jessica Steck (Cody), son Trent James Steck (Emily), three brothers, Scott Porter, Troy Porter, David Porter, one sister, Billie Jo Porter Melton, and two grandson, Tradyn and Drake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Blaine Floyd Porter and Madeline Harryman, one brother Steven Porter, and her grandmother Pebble Harryman.
A celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends September 30, 2017.
Mommy, your wings were ready, but our hearts are not.
There won't be a day you are not in our thoughts.
Fly high and free and worry not!
We still have each other because you made sure you tied that Family Knot.
