Reba Roberts Tabor, 90, passed away on September 28, 2017, at Shannon Medical Center. Burial will be in Robert Lee Cemetery

She was born in Coke County, Texas, in the home of her late parents, Will and Annie Davidson Woods. She lived in the Robert Lee area her entire life attending school and graduating from Robert Lee High School in 1946. After graduation, she went to work for the San Angelo Telephone Company as an operator in Robert Lee.

On February 14, 1948, Reba married Artell Green Roberts. In 1954, she enrolled in Jolley Beauty College and became a licensed beauty operator. In 1955, Reba opened her business, Reba’s Beauty Salon, which she owned and operated in downtown Robert Lee for 23 years. After marrying Artell, Reba lived southwest of Robert Lee on the farm that she and Artell owned and operated until his death in 1969.

In 1981, she married James "Jim" Thomas Tabor and they continued living on the farm until moving to town in 2002. At that time, she moved to Robert Lee and lived out her remaining years playing "88" with her friends weekly. Reba was the last surviving charter member of the '64 Study Club along with being a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a faithful member of the Robert Lee Baptist Church from age 16 up until her death at 90 years of age.

Reba loved shopping for shoes, especially with her daughter, Kaye, and niece, Glenda Miller. For more than 10 years the trio has gotten together in early November each year to celebrate the shared birthday of mother and daughter and would spend a full day shopping in San Angelo. She enjoyed watching her hummingbirds from her front porch and family gatherings in the home of her daughter.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Artell Roberts; second husband, Jim Tabor; in-laws, Green and Emma Roberts; half-sisters, Vivian Sparks and Novelle Pasley; half-brother, Roy Woods; and granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Pitcock.

Survivors include her daughter, Kaye Pitcock and husband, Gaylon; grandsons, Blake Pitcock and wife, Amy, and Korey Pitcock and wife, Lauren; great-grandchildren: Asher, Caleb, Mckinley, and Abigail; step-children: Ted and Rita Weeaks, Glenna Tabor, Joyce Higdon, and Jerry Tabor and wife, Rebecca; nieces, Glenda Miller and husband, Clay, and Billie Good and husband, Eddie Paul; other relatives and many friends.
