Sandra Fortinberry Mason Ford, passed away on September 11, 2017, in Baytown, Texas at the age of 62. She was born on October 2, 1954, to Bobbie Louise Josserand Fortinberry and the late Billy Sands Fortinberry.

At a young age, Sandra gave her life to the Lord. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School in 1973, she was an active member of a ministry for single/divorced woman and their children. She went on several mission trips. She loved sharing the stories of her being a missionary and how she shared the word of God with many women and children. Upon returning from her mission trips, she decided to go to nursing school so she could continue to help others. After much dedication and hard work, she graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing thru Lee College in Baytown, Texas. She then obtained her Registered Nurse License thru the State of Texas which remains current to date.

Sandra loved vacationing and traveling. Some of her favorite places were San Antonio, Dallas, Las Vegas, Cabo San Lucas, girls trips to Galveston, cruising to the Bahamas for a Kid Rock Concert (she was his #1 Fan), and many more. However, the trips she cherished the most were her yearly trips to Galveston with her wonderful grandchildren. She loved taking all the grandchildren with her to Moody Gardens or The San Luis to spoil them with a week of swimming, putt-putt golf, shopping, room service and so much more. With Mimi, “The sky was the limit!”

Sandra had a great personality that could be described by many adjectives. She was a true friend who was giving, caring, an animal lover, quick witted, out spoken, funny, life of the party, shopaholic, loving and most of all kind hearted. She loved her friends and her family until the end. Her love for her two boys was transparent. Every time she would talk about them, she would light up and one could tell how proud she was of each of them. It didn’t matter what type of project they had going on, she was always their #1 supporter. She was one of a kind and will be truly missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Billie Sands Fortinberry. She is survived by her mother, Bobbie Fortinberry; spouse, Steven Randall Ford; her two sons Eric Mason and wife Marcia and Nash Mason and Ryndie; stepsons, Chance and Chase Ford; sister, Linda East and husband Don; grandchildren, Harleigh, Adam, Rowdy, Taryn, Jackson, and Lilly; great granddaughter, Everly; nephews, Andrew, Michael, and Jesse; niece, Rachel; and great nieces, Chloe and Kensie.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday, September 18, 2017, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Stafford officiating.
