She was born in Allen, TX to Jim and Laura Mae Coats Marion on November 5, 1921. She had three sisters, Maurice Marion Bernheimer, Martha Anne Marion Pitts and Connie Marion Betts. Jimmie graduated from Allen High School in 1938 at the age of 16.
On September 28, 1938, Jimmie married the love of her life, Jim Boyd. Jim was a local radio personality at the time, and his career led to being inducted into the Country Western Music, Texas Swing and Western Swing Halls of Fame. They were married for 54 years.
In 1958, Jimmie opened her first Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio in Dallas. She expanded that to 6 studios over a 15-year period. Jimmie was a training center for Merle Norman International in Los Angeles, CA and was responsible for many successful studio openings in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. She remained a Gold Medallion Studio owner for 45 years when she retired at age 82. She was the consummate Super Mom long before Super Moms were the norm.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Marion Boyd Keegan and Marty Keegan; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth (Dede) Boyd Pitts and Gil Pitts; granddaughters, great-grandchildren, and numerous loving nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jimmie was predeceased by her loving husband, her parents, her sisters, and a granddaughter, Jamie Elizabeth Pitts.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 27th, at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX from 5pm to 7pm. A Graveside Service will be on Monday, July 28th, at 10:30am at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, TX.
