COOKEVILLE — Memorial services for Sharon Lackey Farmer, 64, of Baxter will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Gary West officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Farmer died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 16, 1951, in Battle Creek, Mich., to the late Ridley Williams Sr. and Betty Dilldine Gentry of Baxter.

Mrs. Farmer was retired from Tennessee Tech University where she worked in the office of the Registrar.

She is fondly remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, blue grass music and spending time with family.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Farmer (whom she married Sept. 15, 2001, in Gatlinburg); son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Pamela Lackey of Baxter; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ridley Jr. and Sherry Williams, David and Betty Williams, Donnie and Roberta Williams, all of Baxter; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Taylor, Brittany, Ashley, and Cody Lackey.

In addition to her father, Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her son, George Lackey; brother, Jeffery Williams; and grandson, Joshua Lackey.
