Frederick - Funeral for ANNIE CHRISTINE HOWELL, 83, of Frederick, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ, with David Ridenour and Fred Austin, nephew, officiating. Mrs. Howell died Monday, March 12, 2007, at her home.
She was born July 11, 1923, in Stratford, to Sol and Haddie Hottel Austin. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1941. She married Jesse Elvis Howell Sr. in Gainesville, Texas. He died May 8, 1998. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her mother, of Stratford; two daughters and their husbands, Daralene and Kenneth Kidwell, and Elva Lynn and Max Brown, all of Frederick; a son and his special friend, J. E. Howell Jr. and Lenore Diem, Bella Vista, Ark.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Ken Jr. and Marsha Kidwell of Claremore, Kara and Ken Parsons, and Kristi and Kent Walker, all of Frederick, Jay and Johnna Howell of Pineville, Mo., Kyle and Rhonda Howell of Bentonville, Ark., Lori and Clint Janda of Elgin, and James Preston Howell Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas; 16 great-grandchildren, Shelby and Heather Kidwell, Shelby, Spenser, Jensen and Jacolby Parsons, Kaisen and Kolt Walker, Amber Garza, Brandon, Jaylee and Jacob Howell, Rhett and Kennedy Patton, and Cade and Logan Janda; a sister, Nora Jean Mann; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, G.P. Payne; a son, James Preston Howell Sr.; and two brothers, Dee Austin and George Austin.
