Charles Coleman Pruett, 70, of Brownwood, passed away on September 27, 2017 in Abilene, Texas.

Chuck was born in Brownwood, Texas to Harry and Selma Pruett on August 21, 1947.

He graduated from Abilene High School, and married the mother of their children, Peggy Jean McCurdy on in Brownwood, Texas.

He worked as a conductor for BNSF Railway Company for 39 years, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War from 1967 through 1968 in the Big Red 1 Infantry Division.

He loved spending time with his family and friends, watching baseball and westerns, and loved telling jokes and tall tales.

He will be remembered for his generosity and fun loving spirit.

Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Selma Pruett, and his sister Ann Corbett.

Chuck is survived by his three children, Stacy Miller and husband Mitch Miller, Ashley Pruett and Jon Hartmann, Colby Pruett and Michelle Patton. Brother Tommy Pruett and his wife Jill Pruett. Brother-in-law Danny Corbett. Nine Grandchildren, Shelby Miller, Sheldyn Rector and husband Nick Rector, Sydney Miller, Spencyr Miller, Brooke Montemayor and Fernando, Kassi Montemayor, Devon Montemayor, Austin, Houston, and one great grandchild Lizabeth Smith.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to the dozens of medical staff who have healed him up over the years, and all of the friends for their love and support throughout the years.
